D-Link took IFSEC 2014 by storm

IFSEC 2014As D-Link managed their popular stand at IFSEC International, which took place from 17-19 June in London, the team found time to speak to SecurityNewsDesk about the company’s participation at the show.

Tony Lannon, European IP Surveillance Business Development Manager at D-Link, is especially enjoying demonstrating the company’s fully integrated range of cameras, switches, storage, wireless and VMS solutions to visitors to the exhibition.

“This is the fourth year we’ve exhibited at IFSEC, and it’s always a great platform for exposure to a mass audience,” he said. “Surveillance is a visual thing, so it’s always a challenge to help potential customers fully appreciate what our products actually do, but exhibiting them at events like IFSEC really helps convey the full picture.”

At stand G500, D-Link showed how its integrated security solutions work, with live camera and switching demonstrations. Lannon explained that the IFSEC demonstrations had two purposes, to show visitors how both D-Link products and software work together. Not only are D-Link cameras state-of-the-art, they also provide the best software solutions for users to get the most out of the product technology – and some are even free of charge, including Multi-NVR viewer when you purchase a D-Link NVR and DCS-100 DViewCam VMS when you purchase any camera.

“We are demonstrating a range of cameras that incorporate several high level features, such as infrared and night vision,” Lannon said, “But what makes our cameras different is that you get key features in one product. It’s more common to get one or maybe two, but we make sure that our cameras have everything the client needs in one product, reducing the cost of their systems and increasing efficiency. In addition, we supply our clients with access to our Video Management Software (VMS) software as part of the package with their camera purchase, saving the time and cost often associated with sourcing a suitable VMS solution.”

The D-ViewCam Standard VMS provides video recording, live view and playback management for IP cameras and video servers. Compatible with all current D-Link network cameras and video servers, the software offers digital monitoring and recording with a wide array of features, including scheduled, motion and manual recording options for individual needs. Lannon also explained how Mutli-NVR viewer works, enabling users to view up to 128 camera feeds at once.

He was also keen to highlight that D-Link provides the whole surveillance package, with a range of wireless solutions and switches – all of which are simple and easy to use.

“Our products are all plug-and-play solutions, so there’s no need to understand how everything works. Users can simply set everything up and be sure that the systems will take care of the rest. For example, our switches automatically detect how many and what type of cameras are in use and will adjust the bandwidth needed to support them – even if more cameras are added at a later date, it will make the necessary adjustments.”

With live demonstrations of this comprehensive range at IFSEC many visitors to the D-Link stand discovered the ideal solution for their surveillance needs.
