Finalist for Women in Security Award: Michelle Bailey, Active Response
Michelle Bailey, Managing Director of Active Response Security Services based in Barnsley has reached the Final of the Women in Security Awards to be held in Marble Arch, London, on September 22nd 2016. She is included in the ‘Contribution to Security Category’.
Active Response are already an award winning company and are rated highly as an Approved Contractor offering a wide range of Services.
Was Michelle surprised to hear of her success? Michelle told us:
“I am an ordinary but hard working Professional who cares about the needs of others. I was momentarily “shell shocked” but hugely proud to hear I had been shortlisted for a Women in Security Award by my peers whose opinions I hold dear. I love my industry. It’s challenging but fulfilling. Years of investing in quality people has created a brilliant Team Active. They are Family to me.”
Michelle is well known for the #BeeSafe Initiative that created a 3D Bee character used in Schools to safeguard Children from the dangers of building sites. It was supported by the UK HSE and the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Dr Alan Billings.
As a Speaker and Mentor for Schools with Barnsley Businesses Inspiring Students her commitment to the community is clear. She is a keen supporter of Apprenticeships and has experienced great success with some existing Staff who joined the company this way.
“I believe in opportunity and where we can we like to nurture people to achieve their full potential” Michelle said.
Reflecting the high regard she is held in, Barnsley Central MP Dan Jarvis was amongst those who nominated her.
