Hanwha Vision has launched its first ruggedised PTZ camera series, introducing three models engineered specifically for reliable operation in harsh and demanding environments.
The new TNP-A6550RW, TNP-A7430RW and TNP-A9430RW units have been designed to support continuous, intelligent monitoring across critical infrastructure, transportation networks, ports and urban sites where resilience is essential.
The cameras combine heavy-duty construction with Hanwha Vision’s AI-native Wisenet 9 chipset to deliver advanced analytics alongside robust environmental protection.
Their operating range spans from -50°C to +60°C, and each unit has been tested to withstand Category 5 hurricane-level winds of up to 257km/h. Hanwha says this ensures stable, uninterrupted surveillance in conditions including snow, torrential rain, high heat and severe storms.
To maintain visibility and PTZ functionality in freezing environments, the cameras incorporate anti-icing measures such as a window defroster and a pan heater. Advanced optical image stabilisation, supported by digital image stabilisation*, also helps counter heavy vibration or wind movement, keeping footage steady when surrounding conditions are far from calm.
The new range holds IP68 certification for dust and water ingress, IK10 impact protection, and compliance with MIL-STD-810H military durability standards. This combination positions the cameras for deployment in locations exposed to saltwater spray, abrasive dust, sand or industrial contaminants, where continuous performance is a critical requirement.
Imaging capabilities are designed for large, complex sites. The 2MP model offers a 55x optical zoom, while the 4MP and 8MP variants provide 43x zoom, with infrared range extending up to 500m. A wide tilt range and flexible mounting options allow installers to adapt the devices to varied topographies and vantage points. Powered by Wisenet 9, the cameras deliver improved low-light performance and enhanced Wide Dynamic Range for clear, usable visuals in mixed or challenging lighting.
AI functionality forms a core part of the range’s appeal. The onboard object classification engine identifies people – including clothing colour attributes – vehicles, faces and number plates, supporting faster and more accurate forensic searches. Dynamic Privacy Masking helps organisations protect sensitive areas, while auto-tracking maintains focus on moving targets even amid busy or complex scenes. These features work together to increase situational awareness while reducing operator workload.
Cybersecurity has also been prioritised. The cameras feature FIPS 140-3 Level 3 and ETSI EN 303 645 certification, offering proven resilience against cyber threats. Hanwha Vision’s WiseStream compression helps minimise bandwidth requirements without compromising visual quality, which is particularly valuable for multi-site deployments or locations with limited connectivity.
Integration with major video management platforms — including Milestone, Genetec via Hanwha’s plug-in, Wisenet SSM and Wisenet WAVE — enables straightforward adoption into existing infrastructures and supports consistent workflows across security teams.
