HDBaseT Alliance at NAB 2014: MuxLab to unveil HDBaseT-enabled Extenders

Screen Shot 2014-04-14 at 11.04.53The HDBaseT Alliance exhibit at the annual NAB Show will feature two new MuxLab HD-SDI extenders, part of an ever-growing ecosystem of HDBaseT-enabled extenders, matrixes and switchers for various broadcasting installations. The MuxLab extenders allow the transmission of HD-SDI up to 100 meters via Cat5e/6 cable, enabling a move away from coaxial cable that is more expensive and difficult to work with in the field.

HDBaseT enables all-in-one connectivity between HD video sources and remote displays through a single 100m CAT5e/6 cable, delivering uncompressed high definition video, including 4K, audio, Ethernet, control signals and up to 100 watts of power. Powered by the Valens chipset, HDBaseT has become a global digital connectivity standard with a large and varied product ecosystem that includes video distribution equipment, displays, projectors and AV receivers from more than 90 manufacturers.

“Our HD-SDI over HDBaseT extenders enable the use of a more cost-efficient HDMI or HDBaseT display instead of a more costly HD-SDI monitor in video production applications,” said Daniel Assaraf, President, MuxLab. “HDBaseT has become a global standard for digital connectivity, and integrating the technology into our products will enable our customers to reduce the complexities and costs of their projects”

“MuxLab is one of the newest members of the HDBaseT Alliance and brings a proven track record of providing high-quality solutions to the broadcasting industry,” said Micha Risling, Marketing Committee Chair, the HDBaseT Alliance.
