Ian Young joins VCA
VCA has appointed Ian Young to the role of Business Development Manager for the EMEA region.
Ian will be responsible for developing relationships with key market influencers, including consultants, specifiers and systems integrators to identify sales opportunities for VCA’s new range of IP network video devices which feature its highly acclaimed analytics technology.
Prior to joining VCA, Ian was Commercial Manager for SmartCCTV Ltd, a value added reseller of video analytics, video incident detection systems and high end surveillance solutions for the transport sector.

VCA manufactures a wide range of IP network cameras and domes and 360-degree panoramic cameras, which incorporate its highly acclaimed proprietary analytics.
Developed in the UK by a team of computer vision scientists, VCA’s analytics engine can perform a wide range of security and surveillance applications such as people counting, intrusion detection and vehicle monitoring, as well as tailgating and camera tamper detection.
In addition to its security credentials, VCA’s analytics also provides a highly accurate method for capturing and providing metadata, which can be graphically displayed in customisable reports to provide organisations with the information they need to achieve their business and operational objectives.
As such, it is able to accurately capture data to assist organisations to achieve their business objectives, as well as provide security personnel with a very powerful tool to detect and combat theft and other criminal activity.
Easy to implement and easy to use, it has been deployed worldwide as an OEM solution in excess of 250,000 video channels and has been very successful in providing an ‘out-of-the-box’ solution for a wide range of applications including, people counting, dwell and intrusion detection, vehicle monitoring and tailgating.
Based on state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms and with the benefit that comes from over 50 man-years of research and development, VCA analytics continuously adapts to the environment it is working in. Its analytics engine has been independently verified by the UK Home Office i-LIDS programme for use in sterile zone applications, so users can rest assured that it meets stringent performance standards for event detection and false alarm rejection.
