International Road Dynamics debuts at Intersec with under-vehicle area scanner (UVAS)

Global leader in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), International Road Dynamics (IRD) has used its first appearance at Intersec to introduce several new security systems, including its latest under-vehicle inspection systems.

According to IRD, these systems are capable of effectively scanning the undercarriage of vehicles to provide and analyse images for explosive devices, suspicious objects or contraband such as drugs and weapons. IRD’s systems protect airports, banks, government buildings, military, ports, borders, transportation, and corporate facilities where security checkpoints are required for commercial and passenger vehicles.

The newest of IRD’s security systems is the Under Vehicle Area Scanner (UVAS). The UVAS automatically scans and displays full color and/or black and white images of the undercarriage of vehicles with no restrictions on length of vehicles. Users are able to view and scan the undercarriage of vehicles in just 3 seconds or less, traveling at 75 KMPH (45 MPH) and at up to 900 frames per second. IRD’s Under Vehicle Area Scanner is built using structural steel and rust-resistant diamond plating. The UVAS is perfectly suited for mission critical applications with an IP68 rating to handle all weather conditions.

IRD presented its highly customizable Under Vehicle Surveillance System (UVSS) and ultra-portable hand-held Under Vehicle Inspection Camera. All of IRD’s security systems can be easily integrated with IRD’s intelligent transportation systems including Weigh-in-Motion (WIM), Data Collection, Toll Security, and Port Security systems.

Representing IRD was Rish Malhotra, Vice President of International Business, and Peter Siarkos, Product Sales Specialist.
