The 2025 International Security Buyer Awards judges selected Luke Overy of Assist Security Group as their Security Officer of the Year, marking one of the most significant frontline recognitions within this year’s programme.
Presented specifically as a Judges’ Award, the category honours operational excellence at ground level, spotlighting the professionals who represent security’s first and most visible line of protection – a reflection of Security Buyer’s mission to champion real-world impact across the sector.
Overy led a strong field of finalists whose service and performance were each acknowledged by the judging panel. Abdullah Tanoli of Criterion Hospitality was recognised for consistent excellence in customer-facing safety environments, while Nigel Lanham of SGC Security Services was praised for reliability and proactive risk response in high-pressure operational settings.
The judges concluded that Luke Overy demonstrated the strongest overall contribution in 2025. His selection as Security Officer of the Year reflects the purpose of the Judges’ Awards – to elevate frontline skill, courage and commitment wherever it is found.
All winners were announced live on 19 November 2026 during the virtual broadcast event.
