Major 360 vision CCTV partnership between Vemotion

Thirsk based global wireless video transmission specialist, Vemotion, has announced a major marketing and manufacturing partnership with Runcorn’s 360 Vision Technology. In a move set to send shockwaves through the security industry, this new collaboration will allow the famous 360 Vision Predator camera developed by the UK’s premier manufacturer, to take advantage of world leading Vemotion technology to deliver a matchless CCTV performance for today’s changing security landscape.

Announced by Vemotion CEO Director Stewart McCone and 360’s Sales Manager Adrian Kirk, the relationship will see two UK firms working together to deliver British manufacturing at its best. For the first time, all 360 VT Predator cameras will now have the option of Vemotion transmission capability, plus access to Vemotion’s unique compression technology, capable of sending high quality images even over low bandwidth connections such as GPRS and 3G.

“We have been working on a potential link up with 360 Vision for some time now so we are delighted to be finally able to make this partnership public,” said Stewart McCone, CEO of Vemotion. “It’s no secret the Predator is a class leading camera while Vemotion has the best transmission architecture, so bringing the two together makes sense for us and the industry and we are very excited about what the future holds. We have already manufactured an extended collar to carry the VB-20 and several scenarios have been envisaged where customers will benefit from the best of both sides of the CCTV world coming together in this way.”

“It is great to be working with Stewart and Vemotion, to announce such a significant partnership,” said Adrian Kirk, Sales Manager for 360 Vision Technology. “As you would imagine there has been a lot of negotiation and behind the scenes work involved, over many months, so it is just very pleasing to see all this hard work come to fruition. Predator and Vemotion combined is big news and together we will be a unique and powerful force in the industry, particularly in challenging, modern open space environments.”

A Predator camera able to take advantage of Vemotion technology will be a compelling choice when fixed infrastructure is too expensive, where fibre is not an option, or on the many occasions where there is a real need to be able to deploy assets somewhere elsewhere at a moment’s notice.

“Vemotion thrives without the need for fibre, and coupled with Predator hardware, this is a best in class British CCTV technology partnership, packing a powerful punch,” added Stewart. “Local Authorities and others are confronting the unavailability of a fibre backbone in remote areas, while those that do have it are often finding leasing costs prohibitive. Together, Vemotion and 360 Vision can now solve such struggles at a stroke.”

Vemotion’s innovative wireless video transmission know-how can deliver live CCTV footage from almost any remote location. The technology means that CCTV cameras can be set up in isolated areas and transmit images back to a command centre anywhere in the world and what is more, doesn’t rely on a fast broadband connection to do so. Such technology has seen Vemotion to working with the Gendarmerie in France for the last five years and has helped police chiefs make informed decisions using live video during everything from G20 Summits, D-Day Celebrations, the UK leg of the Tour De France, the 2014 Commonwealth games and much more.

The Predator is a sophisticated, yet rugged practical CCTV system which is already helping protect police, prison, utility and MOD sites across the UK. Gone are the days that CCTV operators had to just sit powerless watching a crime unfold. Predator allows operators to take direct action and shine a high intensity spotlight on night time crime. With both infrared and high intensity white light onboard, Predator offers superb colour images in total darkness and is effective up to an impressive 100m.

“It’s not every day to major players decide to join forces in this way,” added Stewart. “It’s a bit like Microsoft and Apple announcing a partnership. The difference here is both 360 Vision and Vemotion are committed to the very best. Since we have the best technology and they have the best hardware, it just makes sense for us and for customers to see the two work in tandem together. Good news for us, good news for the industry and bad news for bad guys.”
