Nortek Security & Control, a Nortek company and a leader in the residential and commercial security and control markets, launches the first product in a new family of GoControl® branded communicating thermostats. Serving as a bridge between smart controllers and a home’s heating and cooling system, the GoControl Thermostat provides intelligent, wireless remote management of all thermostatic functions. Nortek Security & Control’s smart thermostat family will include Z-Wave and Wi-fi connectivity options, enabling the company to address a range of retail, security, HVAC, custom installation and self-install opportunities.

Installation, programming and control of GoControl Thermostats is simple. The units can be hardwired into a home using existing thermostat wires, or, in cases where there is no power, the smart thermostats can be powered by four AA batteries for two years of life. The line features LCD screens, both b/w and color options, touch screen and non-touch screen versions, and easy on-screen setup of all thermostat functions. Across the entire family, GoControl Thermostats are compatible with over 90% of the existing control systems in the market today. The Standard model of the new GoControl thermostats will begin shipping in Spring 2015.
Nortek Security & Control’s GoControl Thermostat product family is engineered to work in unison with other Z-Wave wireless controllers and products as part of an integrated smart home. Other connected products within the GoControl ecosystem include Z-Wave hardwired and plug in light and appliance controls, LED bulbs, security panels, garage door controllers, sensors and more.
