RISCO supports installer growth into access control market

Manufacturer and distributor of security solutions for the commercial and residential market, RISCO, is helping accredited security installers to cost-effectively grow their businesses in the lucrative SME market, with the expansion of its commercial product portfolio.

NSI- and SSAIB- accredited installers form a rapidly increasing share of RISCO’s customer base and the company has announced the arrival in the UK and Ireland of the first stock of its new integrated alarm, access control and video verification solution for the commercial and high-end residential projects sought by these installers.

Large scale commercial end users – including those in the office, logistics, retail, hospitality and manufacturing sectors – are increasingly stipulating access control as part of many installations.  By adding integrated access control to the *award-winning LightSYS+ scalable hybrid intruder alarm system launched in January, LightSYS+ Access Control precludes the complexity of combining two standalone solutions, facilitating quicker and easier installation.

The single combined LightSYS+ Access Control solution is a cost-effective alternative for projects involving up to 32 doors, for which separate access control and intruder alarm systems are unnecessarily expensive, providing excessive levels of functionality. The new product also means installers need only carry a relatively small amount of stock and train their engineers in the fitting of one product instead of two. LightSYS+ Access Control is backwards compatible, so installers can easily upgrade existing LightSYS+ solutions to integrate the access control facility.

The new integrated solution is the latest addition to RISCO’s portfolio designed to support installers as they strive to expand their businesses’ share of the high-return commercial market.  The company already offers an extensive range of commercial and industrial detectors covering PIR, dual technology, Bus, perimeter, door and window entry, glass break and specialist detectors for smoke, heat, flood and seismic activity.

Installers are also supported with a comprehensive range of services, including training events, webinars and videos designed in response to customer requirements and UK-based technical assistance.  The company’s concise product portfolio facilitates security of supply.

Said RISCO’s UK and Ireland managing director, Mark Taylor: “Accredited installers account for a fast-growing share of our market, and we continue to work closely with them to identify ways in which we can help to support their businesses.

“As they aim to secure larger shares of the high-return SME commercial market, with its interesting and highly rewarding projects, we are pleased to announce the arrival in the UK and Ireland of our new integrated solution, that not only caters for the increasing end-user demand for access control, but will enable installers to meet that need cost-effectively.

“High quality, cost-effective solutions to meet precisely the needs of UK and Ireland installers are always our goal, and never more so than now, as they and end-users try to operate profitably in the face of escalating inflation.  Some SMEs – and indeed high-end residential property owners – still regard premium security as a nice-to-have rather than a necessity, and we are dedicated to helping our installers to tackle this by offering affordable installations.”

RISCO supplies a portfolio of wired, wireless and hybrid solutions, including cloud-based, video monitoring and verification and connected home systems. A technological pioneer, the company was established in 1978 and became the first to introduce cloud-based solutions to the UK intruder alarm market.

RISCO’s cloud and interactive services related to security, building management and smart-home solutions are ISO 27001 security certified against cyber-attacks.  The company is an ECHO (electronic call handing operations)- ready supplier, providing products facilitating swift police response to emergency alarms.
