Tanji Fountain has built her security career around a combination of customer understanding, technical knowledge and a strong commitment to supporting other professionals within the industry. Now Regional Sales Manager for the Mid-Atlantic region at Traka Americas, she brings experience spanning residential and commercial security, enterprise solutions, remote monitoring, mobile security and physical guarding.
Fountain entered security sales in 2015 before progressing into the commercial sector with a major systems integrator. Working with large organisations, including Fortune 500 businesses, gave her experience of the operational challenges facing end users as well as the practical demands placed on installers, integrators and security teams.
In 2026, she moved into the manufacturing sector with Traka, taking responsibility for developing relationships and supporting customers across the Mid-Atlantic region. Her approach is rooted in understanding the customer’s problem first and translating technology into practical outcomes rather than simply presenting product specifications.
Making security technology easier to understand
Fountain places particular emphasis on sales enablement and professional development. Her approach is to make complex technology accessible, focusing on the issues that matter to customers and explaining how solutions can improve everyday security operations.
Within key and asset management, this means encouraging organisations to consider the risks that can remain after somebody has legitimately entered a building.
A lost master key, for example, can expose multiple areas of a site, create significant rekeying costs and disrupt operations. Fountain uses these practical scenarios to demonstrate why physical keys and shared assets should form part of the wider access-control conversation.
Her commitment to learning supports that work. She describes herself as someone who prepares extensively, studies areas where her knowledge needs strengthening and uses difficult experiences as an opportunity to improve. That willingness to continually develop her technical understanding helps her communicate more effectively with customers and partners.
Creating opportunities for other women
Fountain’s contribution extends beyond her commercial responsibilities. In 2026 she joined the Security LeadHER Advisory Board, supporting an initiative dedicated to developing and connecting women working across the security profession.
The work reflects an issue she has become particularly passionate about: ensuring women in a traditionally male-dominated sector actively support one another rather than viewing professional opportunities as limited.
Through mentoring, training, industry engagement and her involvement with Security LeadHER and the Women in Security community, Fountain consistently advocates for professional development and greater opportunity.
Her combination of customer-focused security expertise, continuous learning and active industry participation demonstrates a security professional who contributes both through her day-to-day role and through the time she invests in strengthening the profession around her.
