His Excellency Mohammed Ahmad Bin Abdulaziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary for Economic Affairs, UAE Ministry of Economy, was the guest of honour at Schneider Electric’s flagship annual event – Power to the Cloud.
In his keynote address, Al Shehhi highlighted the future of the country’s smart and sustainable urban landscape, its benefits to citizens, and the event’s industry stature as a key platform for the exchange of technological know-how and trends.
Remarking on technology’s central role to global smart cities, Al Shehhi said:
“Global cities are seeking to integrate the components of their urban ecosystems such as governments, schools, healthcare institutions, and security agencies via strong infrastructure and connectivity networks.
“During this constant, on-going quest for sophisticated developments for our health, security, infrastructure, education and energy industries, we need leadership and inspiration from experts who can help weave the elements seamlessly. Power to the Cloud comes at a time when the country’s infrastructure and IT industry is booming, and governments have greater responsibility in allocating their resources wisely.”
Power to the Cloud is underway at Atlantis-The Palm in Dubai. Key highlights of the event include a large prefabricated modular datacentre and Schneider Electric’s proposed display for EXPO 2020. Additionally, the global energy management leader is showcasing smart buildings solutions, energy efficient home automation systems, smart public services such as security and mobility, smart grids and integrated cloud management platforms.
