NOTE: An updated version of this article has been posted here.

SecurityNewsDesk.com has gone from launch to second place in the UK security internet communications market after only five months online.

We are currently edging up behind the first place website which has the advantage of having been established for three-and-a-half years longer than us and having been spun off a very successful pair of printed publications (both of which are now defunct).

You may find the flurry of claims and counterclaims made by various publishers to be somewhat confusing, so in an effort to be more transparent we are releasing for the first time an internal report showing our take on the market.

Why are we doing this now?

About a month ago, in the lead up to IFSEC, we received a copy of another document that purported to show how well a certain website was doing compared to the competition. Not surprisingly, their report showed their website soaring leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.

We were shocked by the results because it didn’t match our perceptions of the market, so we decided to delve into the figures a little bit deeper.

Below is a summary of our findings.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us and we’ll be delighted to discuss it with you.
