Sony launches SNC-CX600W and SNC-CX600 HD in Europe

c36ca278dc7851235722e0924aa215eeSony has announced that its small, stylish and affordable SNC-CX600W wireless camera, designed for small businesses, is now available to buy across Europe. Sony is also adding the SNC-CX600 High Definition (HD) security camera to the range for wired, Power over Ethernet (PoE) installations.

The two cameras, featuring wide viewing angles and 720p image quality, mark a breakthrough in the market for reasonably priced, fully-featured and highly-sophisticated digital imaging products that are very easy to deploy. They are ideal solutions not just for large public and private enterprises, but for anyone wishing to set up effective security in their shops, offices and storage facilities.

In response to customer demands for increasingly sophisticated security devices, the cameras employ some of the most innovative technology in the market, while remaining affordable. The new SNC-CX600W and SNC-CX600 cameras from Sony deliver high-resolution imaging, white LED illumination and built-in recording, packaged in a compact stylish design that is ideal for installation in shops and offices.

e2d742b8fb6c053f64a91d5a7f2dbec8Both units come with Sony’s original IPELA ENGINE EX unique integrated signal processing system, together with an industry-leading lens that covers a full 120 degrees—or about 50% wider* than other cameras in the same class. The broader coverage never misses anything, and helps reduce the number of cameras needed to cover any given space.

Each camera also includes a high-quality motion sensor that works in both light and dark environments; white LED illumination that enables clear colour recording; a speaker and a microphone; and more. As an example application, when the motion sensor detects an intruder, the camera can respond by switching on wide-angle LED illumination, playing out an alert and a pre-recorded voice message, while also sending an email notification to the user. Live images of the event and playback of recordings on the optional SD card are available for viewing through Internet Explorer. In addition, the CX600W camera is Wi-Fi certified so users can enjoy stable network transmission as well as easy network security settings with the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) standard.

Since these cameras have edge storage, they can store images and audio directly onto microSD or Micro SDHC cards and capture motion-triggered images without the use of an external recorder – another way for users to reduce space requirements, plus deployment and maintenance costs.

Sony’s new SNC-CX600W camera is already available in Europe and the SNC-CX600 will be in December 2013. For more information, visit http://www.sony.co.uk/pro/products/video-security or follow us on Twitter: @SonySecurityEU
