UK’s biggest locksmithing exhibition returns for 2013

The UK’s leading locksmith exhibition, the MLA Expo, will be returning in force on 13-15 September 2013 at the International Centre in Telford.

The biennial event is organised by the leading trade association for the locksmithing profession, The Master Locksmiths Association (MLA), and sees locksmiths and suppliers from across the globe meet to exhibit products and services, discuss industry trends and take part in training courses.

With almost 20 per cent of the exhibition space already sold out within just 24 hours of the launch, the MLA Expo is already shaping up to be the locksmithing event of next year.

Global businesses Abloy, Mul-T-Lock and Yale, together with ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions have been announced as official sponsors of the event, and have already booked significant floor space to showcase their very latest security products.

Commenting on the launch of the exhibition, Dr Steffan George, development director for the MLA said: “This is the 17th time that the MLA has hosted the Expo, and each time we see it grow, with more locksmiths and associated companies from around the world attending. This year we have evening events planned, giving industry leaders the opportunity to network, share knowledge and make new contacts. There will also be a significant amount of training – technical, business and legal related.

“Securing four such leading partners as Abloy, Mul-T-Lock, Yale and ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions as sponsors for the event is fantastic, and we look forward to finalising and announcing further exhibitors in the coming months.”

The MLA Expo is regarded as the principal industry event, with exhibitors and visitors typically ranging from tool suppliers to practicing locksmiths, specialists such as heritage and auto locksmiths, manufacturers and associated companies. Over 1500 people from all over the globe are expected to attend the three day event – previous exhibitions have seen visitors come from as far afield as Australia, continental Europe and the USA.

Steffan said: “We know locksmiths appreciate the opportunity to test tools and techniques and meet manufacturers and fellow locksmiths face-to-face which is why the MLA Expo is continuously growing and regarded so highly amongst the locksmithing profession.”

MLA Expo ‘13 will also see a prize draw for visitors, with planned prizes ranging from a Key Machine to a holiday in Las Vegas.

Entry to the exhibition is free for those involved in the security industry – more information is available on the MLA Expo 2013 website
