Layout 1Videx Security introduced the eighth edition of the renowned Product Builder CD at the start of 2013, it provides customers with an effective and highly professional means of creating both door entry and access control systems.

Norbain, one of the UK’s most successful distributors of access control, CCTV, IP and intruder detection solutions has been a long standing admirer and user of successive generations of the Videx Product Builder CD.

Norbain has been taking advantage of the Videx Product Builder for over five years on a daily basis. There are some 55 users within the company and it has been installed within Norbain’s internal system so that the field and internal sales teams, technical support and product management teams all have full access to it.

By using the Videx Product Builder, the Norbain teams are not reliant on waiting on suppliers to provide quotes as Videx products can be selected quickly. This therefore speeds up the turnaround of Norbain’s quotations to their customers and helps achieve the company’s goal of providing the highest levels of customer service.

The design of the Videx Product Builder allows the sales teams to produce quotes for complex door entry or access control system quotes within minutes. One of the most important feature of the 2013 version is that it allows the creation of a door entry or access control system with no prior knowledge of Videx products or systems. This means that anyone even with little experience of Videx systems is able to produce a quotation for customers easily. This is made possible by the simple five-step wizard that guides users are through the creation of a door entry system.

For Norbain, this wizard and the fact that the sales teams can see at a glance the products they are selecting, is very useful. “It avoids any mistakes being made at the outset. Everything is a click away in terms of datasheets, manuals and so on, helping to confirm our professionalism when providing customer quotations,” said Anne Wesley, product marketing manager, at Norbain.

Another key feature of the Videx Product Builder 8 is that it provides a choice of possible solutions so that options can be selected based on cost, preferred products and system functionality. This gives exactly the flexibility that Norbain wants so that customised quotations can be produced to their clients’ preferences.

“We have worked with Videx for many years. We have found them to be very professional and at the forefront when it comes to helping customers. We have a very good working relationship with the Videx team who offer a valued support structure to both us and our customers,” added Wesley.
