Avon Barrier Company Ltd., following recent success with major security installations in the Middle East, has chosen Intersec to introduce its newly extended range of crash-tested anti-terrorist vehicle blockers and associated Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) solutions, stand no. S3-120P.
New for Intersec is the company’s range of static bollards, all of which have been physically crash-tested to PAS 68 standard. The Avon Scimitar bollards provide vital protection for perimeter, building, street and access route security, especially where there may be a risk of terrorism, such an extreme Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) attack.
Impact testing has been carried out at different speeds with four bollard models within the range to offer a choice of options from 30-50mph impact protection depending on the application. The Scimitar range provides an important new product for high level security, but without the need for an outwardly aggressive appearance and is therefore suitable for on-street and shopping mall use, as well as wider applications.
These latest developments increase the options for crash-tested products especially designed to counter terrorist attacks such as extreme Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) attack. The range includes rising arm barriers, road blockers, sliding armoured gates, bollards and wire rope perimeter fencing systems.
There will also be information on Avon Barrier Company’s SG1500CR sliding armoured vehicle gate which has been successfully tested to both UK PAS 68 and US ASTM 2656-07 standards– the only sliding gate to achieve both standards.
