This further cements 21st Century’s strategy of product and market expansion in the region. Scandinavia is 21st Century’s second largest market after the UK and the Company continues to look for opportunities to roll out its proprietary technology into other countries in mainland Europe.

Commenting on the contract win 21st Century’s International Director of Sales, Mark Johnson said “We have an established technical capability in Sweden and we are looking forward to  working alongside the vehicle manufacturers to install this cutting edge technology. Our passenger counting solution is integrated within the bus and uses sensors above each door to accurately count passengers boarding and alighting and then transmit the passenger volume data by route and time to a back-office internet application.  In addition, our solution can be used to monitor real time vehicle loads.  This information is invaluable if operators wish to vary services quickly and efficiently in response to actual passenger volumes.”

21st Century will be showcasing its range of CCTV solutions and passenger counting technology at the Busworld Turkey exhibition in April.
