Abloy UK has introduced the innovative Aperio KL100 – a battery-operated wireless entry solution designed for safes, compartments, wardrobes, and storage units, aimed at enhancing the protection of valuable possessions and personal belongings.
The Aperio KL100 empowers nearly any small aperture to become an essential component of an access management setup, safeguarding items like personal treasures, pharmaceuticals, confidential papers, retail inventory, athletic gear, and more, while discouraging unauthorised entry and theft.
Provided in two varying sizes and various CAM alternatives, the KL100 offers an uncomplicated retrofit alternative and can be affixed to practically any wooden or metallic storage unit, cabinet, or drawer.
This wireless lock necessitates no specialised maintenance and is energised by a single battery, which exclusively consumes power when a credential is displayed, eliminating the inconvenience and rigidity of traditional keys.
Furthermore, the Aperio KL100 is compatible with mobile keys through Bluetooth Low Energy and NFC, along with smartcards and fobs that utilize all leading RFID technologies. This solution can also work with multiple credential technologies concurrently, allowing security managers to utilise mobile keys when suitable.
The setup process is speedy and straightforward, and the wire-free option is crafted to produce minimal interference with furniture. Its modern, unobtrusive design and power provided by a sole, standard lithium battery render it a state-of-the-art and forward-looking choice.
The Aperio KL100 seamlessly integrates with any new or existing access control and security system, collaborating with over 100 distinct manufacturers and still expanding. Additionally, Aperio supports a broad array of current credentials, in addition to BLE and NFC Mobile credentials.
System managers can choose between connected Online, Offline or OSS compliant integration. Online management enables real-time control over every KL100 lock, with easy access rights administration and instant availability of audit trails for any opening or user — which makes incident investigation fast and accurate.
Jason Boyce, Commercial Product Manager-EAC at Abloy UK, said: “The many benefits of access control should not be limited to doors, and valuables and other personal items deserve the same protection as offices, treatment rooms or server racks.
“The new Aperio KL100 integrates seamlessly with more than 100 access control systems, bringing security to many access points beyond just doors, and revolutionising the way in which we secure smaller openings.”
