The Training Providers Section of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) officially launched its new Code of Ethics at IFSEC International yesterday, committing all section members to the highest standards of service delivery.

The Code of Ethics, which each section member has pledged to uphold, outlines the section’s commitment to best practice in maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Safeguarding the interests of consumers is a core aim of this pledge, and section members have agreed to promote their services, guarantees and warranties in a legal, decent, honest and fair manner to ensure customers are fully informed at all stages of the training process.

Paul Tennent, Chairman of the Training Providers Section, comments: “As a newly-formed section within the BSIA, we are extremely ambitious in our objectives, and are committed to increasing professionalism within our sector and improving the standard of training offered.

“Many customers procure their training services under the impression that the mandatory training undertaken to gain an SIA license meets the industry’s needs. However, further training is often needed to ensure that security officers can carry out the wide range of duties expected of them in a knowledgeable and professional manner.”

The launch of the Training Providers’ Code of Ethics provides an additional quality differentiator for members of the section, providing customers with the reassurance that they adhere to British Codes of Advertising and Sales Promotion and will honour all guarantees and warranties.

Copies of the Code of Ethics are available free of charge to BSIA members, customers, local consumer organisations and others with a legitimate interest.

Members of the BSIA’s Training Providers section specialise in all types of training, from CCTV Training to Conflict management, risk management and much more.
