At this year’s IFSEC, which takes place from May 14th to 17th in Birmingham, UK, Dallmeier will present its comprehensive portfolio of professional video management systems. The highlight will be the award-winning and much-lauded multifocal sensor system Panomera®.

Last year, Panomera® was unveiled at the IFSEC – and honoured with the IFSEC Security Industry Award as “Security Product of the Year“. Not only have many more prizes and awards followed since then, but the first projects with Panomera® have also been completed successfully. The enthusiasm and interest in the industry is enormous: because Panomera® is not just another multi-megapixel camera – Panomera® represents an entirely new technology and a fundamentally different approach to the issue of video security, with which Dallmeier once again demonstrates its innovative ethos.

The Panomera® effect: Where HD and megapixel cameras reach their limits

Panomera® is a unique HD camera technology, which was especially developed for the video surveillance of expansive areas. Panomera® guarantees highest detail resolution at every distance. Whereas conventional megapixel cameras have a definite disadvantage: The farther you zoom into the picture, the higher the loss of detail, causing the picture to become blurry.

The multifocal sensor system Panomera® stands out due to its completely new lens and sensor concept: The resolution never falls below the specified parameters, not even in the most distant areas of the image. Therefore the Panomera® effect guarantees a uniform resolution over the entire scene. This way, even objects that are farther away can be displayed with the same resolution quality as objects in the foreground of the picture.

Most cost-efficient camera available

“At IFSEC 2012, visitors will have the chance to experience the Panomera® effect for themselves. We are also going to place particular emphasis on the cost efficiency of this system”, declares Dieter Dallmeier. “It is precisely when large expanses have to be monitored, such as airports and harbours, stadiums or wide open spaces, that using Panomera® pays dividends. The significant savings in terms of the infrastructure needed – it is still only one system and as such only one camera installation is needed instead of a large number at multiple locations – mean that a Panomera®-based project often ends up costing considerably less than conventional camera systems. Furthermore, a number of cameras set up at different locations do not allow work to proceed as efficiently as a single, synchronised system.”
