Innovative electronic security and fire products manufacturer, Elmdene International Limited – a subsidiary of Potter Electric Signal, LLC – has significantly upgraded the capabilities of its top-of-the-line Rapier external intruder alarm sounders. The new market-leading features allow Rapier range models to comply with the pivotal EN50131-4:2009 Grade 3 and 4 standard, while also delivering a smarter appearance, ease of installation and fast track fault-finding.
The high quality Rapier range of sounders is now fitted with a diagnostic LED that automatically flashes to indicate any problems with the device. The units also offer versatile trigger options and ‘comfort’ LEDs to signal that they are in working order. Other key features include low power operation, battery and piezo self-test, remote test input, ring line monitoring, silent engineer mode and cascade tamper for multiple sounder installations.
Installation has been greatly simplified in the new Rapier units thanks to the adoption of control panel dependent end-of-line resistors. For added flexibility the sounders can be mounted horizontally or vertically, a feature which is aided by two internal spirit levels.
The Rapier sounders have been designed very much with appearance in mind. Each siren’s clean lines and stainless steel cover – a white powder coated option is also available on some models – ensure an aesthetically-pleasing result. This is in keeping with the attention to detail demanded by ever more discerning end-users.
Elmdene also offers a free two colour screen printing service of an installer’s company logo and contact details (provided a minimum order threshold is reached).
Comments Justin Roberts, Sales and Marketing Director at Elmdene International Limited: “We are delighted to be able to bring to market our enhanced range of Rapier sounders. These extremely capable sirens are very much at the forefront of sounder development, satisfying the very latest standards and offering a robust, feature-rich, and visually satisfying solution, whether it be for a large domestic property or a prestigious office development.”
