Security of home and property was a hot topic at Intersec Trade Fair and Conference

DUBAI: With increased and more sophisticated security threats posed by criminals getting ever more sophisticated, homeowners and residents around the world are increasingly opting for additional electronic protection of their homes and valuables.

As a result the global market for home security products and systems has registered a steady climb and is expected to maintain a 9 per cent growth year-on-year for the next three years, according to recent market research.*

“Security of our homes and possessions is of vital importance,” said Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organiser of Intersec Trade Fair and Conference – the Middle East’s paramount trade and networking event for the Security, Policing, Fire and Rescue and Health and Safety industries.

“With criminals getting more ingenious, the need for the latest in protection and security systems within the home is imperative.  As the security needs of the Middle East change, demand for home security systems is bound to increase,” he added.

Home security has been continuously evolving over the years, with the best home security systems either networked into the system of a private security firm or designed to alert police officials in case of any breach. Over 70 per cent of the cost of guaranteeing home protection comes from monitoring the properties and not the installation of the system itself.

Intersec 2011, which took place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on January 16th to 18th, featured a wide range of security systems and implements. It gave industry professionals an opportunity to research the latest developments in the sector, learn about potential threats and dangers and speak to leading industry professionals.

Amongst the exhibitors presenting the latest in home security products and systems at Intersec 2011 were be: Panasonic, Technoworld, Vanguard, GE Security, IMCI Services, Pyronix, Teknim Electronik and CityTec to name a few.

The region’s premier safety, security and policing platform also featured products and services related to Homeland Security and Policing, Commercial Security, Safety and Health, Aviation Security and Fire and Rescue amongst others.
