IQPC Middle East announces 4th Annual National Security Summit

Homeland security is amongst the fastest-growing industries globally and this is particularly true in the Middle East, where it is expected that the UAE’s investment will double from US 5.5 billion to US $10 billion in the next 10 years and that Saudi Arabia’s investment will grow from US $7.8 billion in 2011 to US $15.4 billion in 2018, firmly establishing it as the world’s second largest homeland security market. Against this backdrop of investment, IQPC Middle East is delighted to announce the dates for the 4th Annual National Security Summit. Taking place in the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi for the third consecutive year, the 2011 event will be held between the 19 – 22 June.

Of course it goes without saying that investment alone is not enough. As global security threats continue to increase; fears over the apparent increase in activity of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) rise; political unrest causes rioting and violent demonstrations on the streets in Tunisia and Egypt and amid the reports of a suicide bombing at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport on 24 January 2011, it is imperative that the major stakeholders gather together to develop the strategies required to tackle these challenges and learn from the best practice implementation of the technologies available.

National Security Summit will provide this vital opportunity and the agenda will focus on evaluating where the gaps in current strategy lie and making critical decisions on the technology available to enhance counter-terrorism strategies, border control and critical infrastructure protection.

Make sure you save the dates in your diary!
