Kingston Technology is highlighting the changing memory and storage requirements of organisations across the GCC as investments in edge computing, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and data-driven applications continue to reshape enterprise IT environments. The company is encouraging businesses to plan ahead based on their workload requirements to improve performance, resilience and long-term value.

The announcement comes as digital transformation accelerates across the Middle East. According to Gartner, IT spending in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is forecast to reach US$169 billion in 2026, driven by continued investment in AI-enabled software, cloud platforms and infrastructure modernisation.

As businesses process larger volumes of data closer to where it is generated, many find that traditional storage environments are under increasing pressure. Workloads such as AI, analytics, virtualisation and real-time applications require infrastructure that can deliver predictable performance, high endurance and continuous availability.

Antoine Harb Comments:

“Businesses do not always need to replace their entire storage and memory solutions when requirements begin to change,” said Antoine Harb, Team Leader Middle East, Kingston Technology.

“The priority should be understanding how existing systems are being used and identifying the workloads that have the greatest impact on performance. That enables organisations to invest where it matters most and build a stronger foundation to future-proof their infrastructure.”

While client SSDs remain well suited for daily office use in desktops and laptops, organisations supporting business-critical or write-intensive workloads should consider enterprise-grade SSDs that are designed for continuous operation, greater endurance and consistent performance.

Kingston recommends that businesses begin by reviewing data growth, application performance, write activity, utilisation patterns and shared access across their environments. Indicators such as inconsistent application response times, recurring capacity constraints, increasing maintenance requirements or frequent drive replacements may signal the need to reassess existing infrastructure.

Rather than undertaking a full infrastructure refresh, the company advises a phased approach that prioritises systems where performance, uptime and data availability are most critical. This enables IT teams to minimise disruption, validate new deployments and align technology investments with evolving operational requirements.

Evaluating beyond speed and capacity

Kingston also encourages IT decision-makers to evaluate storage and memory solutions beyond speed and capacity alone. Endurance, performance consistency, compatibility, lifecycle, technical support and total cost of ownership all play an important role in determining how effectively infrastructure will support future business demands.

“Enterprise storage planning starts with the workload, not the specification sheet,” added Harb. “Every organisation has unique operational priorities, even when data volumes appear similar. Choosing the right storage solution helps improve efficiency today while providing the scalability needed to support tomorrow’s AI, cloud and edge computing initiatives.”

Demand for enterprise memory and storage is expected to continue growing across sectors including financial services, government, healthcare, telecommunications, retail and media, where organisations are managing increasingly complex applications and data environments.

To support customers throughout this transition, Kingston provides technical guidance, compatibility assistance and advisory services through initiatives such as Ask an Expert and Kingston Care, helping businesses evaluate existing infrastructure and plan storage upgrades with confidence.
