Trans Data Management Limited (TDM) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Ascom’s specialist Security and Communications business. TDM was created with Ascom’s support over a decade ago and has since turned into the successful business it is today. This acquisition represents the pinnacle of this relationship; a natural partnering for two like-minded businesses. The management of the two companies know each other well and complimentary activities have evolved through the joint delivery of many projects.
The new Swiss company will adopt the same name as the buyer and will be known as Trans Data Management AG. Under the direction of TDM the business is strongly supported by the existing Swiss management and a powerful list of industrial investors who collectively, form a spirited acquisition team, and each of whom see this opportunity as much more than an investment vehicle.
Historically both organisations have delivered integrated security and communication systems to both the road and railway markets; Infrastructure Operators’ in mainland Europe, and TDM primarily in the UK. The potential scope has now increased exponentially and it is for the new operation to fully integrate, consolidate and innovate to deliver a wider range of products and services internationally.
The acquisition will be completed on Friday 30th March when all existing employees will transfer into the employ of Trans Data Management AG. The head office will remain in Bümpliz Sud near Bern and Research and Development will continue at Hombrechtikon near Zurich.
TDM will expand its international business to address new territories and emerging markets. There will be new technological innovations and an emphasis on marketing new applications; ensuring strong growth and the continued success of this business.
By working closely with Ascom, TDM are delighted to have, amid fierce competition, been able to acquire this very prestigious and successful brand. It is our intention to ensure that the business continues to occupy pole position in this specialist market place and to grow into new areas worldwide. The market for quality integration is huge and opportunities manifold. There is a host of on-going prestige contracts currently in progress and the order book is secured for the foreseeable future.
